ISPRA’s museum activities for the 150th anniversary of Italy
ISPRA participated in the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy through exhibitions of the Geological and Historical Collections.
The Collection of relief maps of the Geological Survey of Italy was displayed at the celebratory exhibit "Roots of the national identity", held at the Vittoriano from 16 March to 2 June 2011, focused on the theme of Italy as cultural country.
The Collections were opened to the public during the XIX Spring Day organized by FAI (26-27 March 2011) and was visited by more than 1,500 visitors in just two days.
ISPRA participated with its collections in the Conference Geoitalia 2011 (Turin, 21-23 September 2011) with a session dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the geology of Italy as a united country, entitled "Men and reasons: the 150th anniversary of the geology of Italy as a united country.
Scaled copies of the geological relief maps were displayed during the study day "Risorgimento and the Italian Geology" in Palazzo Vecchio (Florence, November 25,2011).
