Historical furnishings
The historical furnishings of the Royal Office were made in the late 1800s and early 1900s, according to the museographic style of the time.
Mostly made of wood and glass, they constituted the main set of showcases of the Collections and of the Library of the Geological Service of Italy at the historic headquarters of Largo di S. Susanna 13 in Rome.
The furniture, manufactured at the internal carpentry of the Royal Office, is of exquisite workmanship and is made with different and more valuable wood for the exposed surfaces.
The preservation of this kind of furniture offers, in addition to their functional use, the opportunity to bequeath a taste and a historical museological concept.
