Orienteering in Biodiversity
"Orienteering in biodiversity" is an experimental project of environmental education oriented to sustainability, promoted and developed by ISPRA - Environmental Education Sector, in the occasion of the International Year of Biodiversity, with the sponsorship of the Ministry of the Environment and the UNESCO-DESS.The initiative was carried out in 2010 and was attended by 180 students of the primary school "G. Mazzini" of Rome. The project title is referred to the main event, consisting of a non-competitive orienteering exercise. This sport activity, together with other cognitive activities both in the classroom and in the field, is aimed to test an education methodology adapted to the learning modalities of subjects involved.
