Scenarios of environmental impact related to production activities and economic instruments toward a self-sustainable system.

This technical paper describes some scenarios of environmental impact deriving from the industrial sector and shows how they can be managed at territorial scale through sustainable tools which bring both environmental and economic benefits. By means of an integrated planning process between the public and the private sector and the implementation of win-win strategies, policies which lead both to economic development and environmental protection can be identified.

This paper introduces the concept of self-sustainability of the system which is intended to be a methodology to move the industrial sector toward eco-innovation without any huge financial investment or any important regulatory intervention by the public authority.
