Italian Commission of Stratigraphy
The Italian Commission of Stratigraphy was established in 1988 within the Italian Geological Society in order to coordinate Italian activities in the stratigraphic field, with particular regard to the chronostratigraphic units defined in Italy.
Subsequently to this primary mandate were added the verification of the validity of the lithostratigraphic units established in Italy and the revision and updating of the Italian Code of Stratigraphic Nomenclature.
The Geological Survey of ISPRA is a member of the Commission since 2004.
In this section of the site are published the documents concerning the new composition.
